More Than Just Bridal Prep
To say that Cameron, our wonderful bride, had carefully planned every detail of her wedding morning would be an understatement. Every little gesture felt thoughtful, kind and incredibly personal.
At eight months pregnant, I couldn’t have felt more welcomed. From the moment I arrived, everyone treated me like an old friend and I instantly felt at home among such a lovely group of women.
Between the sharing of thoughtful gifts and the gentle chaos of everyone slipping into their dresses, the morning had such a relaxed and emotional atmosphere — filled with laughter, excitement and a few happy tears.
The Boys
I was joined by the wonderful Bianca Valentine of @bphotographyuk as my second shooter, and she did such a beautiful job throughout the day. Not only did she capture the moments perfectly, but she also understands that wedding photography is about so much more than just the camera — it’s about being a friendly, supportive presence when it matters most.
From what she documented, groom prep looked like the perfect start to the day — a room full of laughter, a group of friends enjoying the morning together, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere with no pretence at all.
Ceremony
The happiness of the morning carried beautifully into the ceremony. Cam and Eddie have been together since they were young, and it showed in the way their families and friends came together so naturally — there was no sense of two separate sides, just one big, blended group of people who had watched their story grow over the years.
As everyone took their seats, there was that quiet, anticipatory buzz that always fills the room just before a ceremony begins. The kind where smiles are exchanged across aisles, hands are squeezed a little tighter, and you can feel that something meaningful is about to happen. When Cam and Eddie finally stood together at the front, you could see exactly why everyone was so invested in this moment.
There was laughter, a few emotional tears, and so many knowing looks shared between family and friends who had been there through so many chapters of their lives already. It felt incredibly genuine — not staged or overly formal — just two people, deeply loved, promising their future to each other surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
I found myself smiling throughout the entire ceremony. Moments like this are a quiet reminder of why I love what I do so much. To be trusted to witness something so personal, so full of emotion and connection, really is the greatest privilege.
Confetti & Celebrations
Stepping outside as husband and wife, Cam and Eddie were welcomed by a joyful cloud of confetti and a chorus of cheers from their friends and family. A light February drizzle drifted through the air, but no one paid it any mind — coats were shrugged on, umbrellas appeared here and there, and the laughter only seemed to grow louder.
As the newlyweds were swept into hugs and congratulations, guests slowly settled into the drinks reception, enjoying canapés and warming drinks while taking in the rustic beauty of the Tithe Barn. Nestled within the breathtaking Bolton Abbey Estate, the whole scene felt wonderfully relaxed — the quiet magic of a February wedding where a little drizzle simply becomes part of the story.
Evening Celebrations
As evening settled in, the celebration seemed to glow from every corner of the beautiful Tithe Barn. Outside, guests gathered around the open fire, laughter rising into the cool February air as marshmallows slowly toasted over the flames. It was one of those simple, joyful moments that makes a winter wedding feel so special.
Inside, the energy shifted as the music picked up and the dance floor came alive. Friends danced with abandon, family members cheered from the sidelines, and the photo booth became a constant swirl of smiles, props and spontaneous group photos.
It was the perfect ending to a beautifully planned day — one filled with thoughtful details, genuine emotion and countless little moments of happiness. The kind of day that reminds you that weddings aren’t just about the big milestones, but about all the joyful moments in between.
Cam and Eddie’s wedding was a perfect reminder that the best moments of a wedding day are often the ones you don’t plan — the laughter between friends, the quiet glances, the bursts of joy that happen naturally throughout the day.
Capturing those candid, documentary moments is at the heart of how I photograph weddings, while also being a warm, supportive presence so couples can relax and truly enjoy their celebration. If you’re planning your own wedding and that approach resonates with you, I’d love to hear all about it.
